Literary Outreach Incubation Programme

Towards a Knowledgeable Society

The Literary Outreach Incubation Programme is an initiative by Kwetso Consulting Services (Pty) Ltd, launched in 2022 with the support of the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture and the Books and Publishing Directorate.

This programme promotes a culture of reading in South African indigenous languages, fostering comprehension, knowledge, and leisure. By igniting a passion for literature, we aim to empower authors writing in indigenous languages, expanding their reach from local to national markets.

Empowering a Reading Culture

Through activities like Book Clubs, Book Fairs, Poetry Writing Competitions, Book Donations, and Masterclass Workshops, the programme encourages learners, youth, and communities to engage with literature. Our goal is to make reading an enjoyable lifestyle activity while enhancing access to reading resources.

Supporting Authors and Communities

We collaborate with libraries, authors, publishers, and arts organizations across all nine South African provinces. Indigenous language authors are central to this initiative, ensuring representation and cultural preservation.

Expanding Impact in 2023 and Beyond

Building on the success of 2022, we continue expanding our initiatives to support book clubs, encourage literacy, and drive knowledge production. With the valued partnership of the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, we are committed to fostering a thriving literary landscape in South Africa.
